"I would disable individual and spend a large amount of time in my wheelchair. The leather seat is beginning to get worn out and sagging. I decided to replace the seat with a more rigid seat. I contacted several blacksmith and metalworking shops in the Dallas area. The only one that wanted to take on my task was North Dallas Wrought-Iron. None of the other shops we're willing to take on a job this small.
I describe for Bruce, the Smith, what I envisioned for the seat, and stressed that it needed to be easily removed to allow the collapse of the wheelchair for car trunk storage. Without even seeing my wheelchair, he was able to fabricate a perfect insert for my wheelchair given the measurements I outlined. He did a really great job for a very reasonable price.
